Update | Thursday, August 24
Repairs to the water system are expected to occur during the afternoon on Friday, August 25, and the morning of Monday, August 28.
During repairs the water supply will be reduced/limited, and may at times be shut off. The previous timeframe of repairs being completed by the weekend have changed due to late shipment of supplies and the weather forecast.
Users should expect discoloration of water (brown water) after completion of repairs, while the lines are flushed of sediment. If this occurs, run the water from the tap at the lowest elevation in your building until the water clears. If this takes longer than 15 minutes, please contact (506) 755-4320, extension 112, to be connected to the Public Works employee on call.
Water system users are encouraged to maintain a secondary supply of water, both drinking water and for sanitary purposes.
Update | Monday, August 21
Water system services may be interrupted over the next several days as exploration and repairs are conducted by Public Works and local partners.
The water supply could be turned off at any time, resulting in no water or reduced water pressure. Some of the work is being completed by an outside contractor and not the municipality, which means we cannot communicate every step as it happens.
Water system users are encouraged to maintain a secondary supply of water, both drinking water and for sanitary purposes. Be prepared the same way you would for a power outage after a storm, such as filling a bucket or two of water for flushing.
A current expectation of when the boil order would be lifted is the middle of the week of August 28. After repairs are completed, the water must pass testing every 24 hours for a minimum of two (2) days.
