Council for Eastern Charlotte unanimously adopted a new logo for the municipality during its Regular Meeting on Wednesday, February 21.
Prior to the new entity’s start date on January 1, 2023, a simple text-based nameplate was created to temporarily identify Eastern Charlotte on official documents (such as bylaws, letters, invoices, emails), the website and other internet accounts.
Six designs were presented to Council for consideration, each with a unique typography and design elements. The logo chosen contains a blending of a pine tree with a boat’s sail, above rolling lines serving as the outlines of both hills and waves.
Councillor Adam commented on the logo, “We all know we live in a fishing town and a forestry town, so I think it is a great amendment.”
Both the temporary identifier and the newly adopted logo are for official municipality use only, and are not to be used privately or commercially without written permission from the Municipal Office.
