Connors Bros. has notified the municipal office regarding scheduled water line work taking place on the Blacks Harbour Water System, on SATURDAY, August 24, 2024.
Work is scheduled to begin at 6:00 am and is being completed by an outside contractor.
A strategic, internal scan of the line is being used to identify any possible issues. This may result in reduced water pressure and discoloration.
Instructions
The water system will remain functional, however residents and businesses are asked to conserve water during repairs
• No running of water for excessive or long periods of time. Refrain from use of lawn sprinklers, washing vehicles, etc.
• Plan to wash clothes and/or dishes after work is completed.
At this time there is no foreseen impact to the drinking water and no boil order is expected.
Municipal officials will be notified when the scan is completed. At that time, water system users are encouraged to complete the following:
• Remove the screens from taps and remove any debris, and change any water filters within your system (filtration, refrigerators, etc.).
• If water is discolored, run the tap in the lowest part of your water line.
When the results of the scan are analyzed, if Connors Bros. determine repairs are required, information will be provided through the municipal office.
If additional information is required as the work unfolds, real-time alerts will be sent via the Voyent Alert system. Click to find out more about Voyent Alert or to register for this FREE service.
UPDATE
The scan by Connors Bros. has been completed, and the water system has returned to normal usage. Residents and business may return to regular use of the water supply.
Thanks to all for their patience and understanding during the procedure.
