Residents Invited to Suggest Nominations for the King Charles III Coronation Medal

The Coronation Medal was created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023. It is the first Canadian commemorative medal to mark a coronation.

The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General is responsible for administering the King Charles III Coronation Medal program. The medal will be awarded to 30,000 deserving individuals.

The Council for Eastern Charlotte invites residents to suggest a name for nomination.

How it Works

Complete the nomination form, being sure to fill in every required item, and provide any supporting information you have available. Incomplete forms will not be considered.

Submit completed forms to the Municipal Office at 1 School Street, St. George, no later than Monday, September 23, 2024, at 4:30 pm. Forms received after this time will not be considered.

Council will then select one (1) name to be forwarded to the next stage of nomination.

Nominators and nominees will not be contacted unless chosen to receive the medal, unless additional supporting information is required.

Submission Guidelines

Please keep in mind the following guidelines when preparing your suggestion for consideration:

  • Nominate an individual only – not a group or couple.
  • Recognize an individual for long service, good conduct, high professionalism, or worthy deeds that bring great credit to our community, New Brunswick or Canada.
  • Consider the demographics of your community with attention to women and historically under-represented groups.
  • A nomination can be made posthumously provided the nominee was alive on May 6, 2023, which is His Majesty’s coronation date.
  • The person has not been convicted of a criminal offense or subject to official sanctions.
