As of 2:25 pm on Friday, September 15, 2023, the municipality of Eastern Charlotte is at EMO Level 1, Active Monitoring, in anticipation of Hurricane Lee’s landfall.
Municipal/EMO staff continue to monitor the projected path of Hurricane Lee, as well as warnings issued by Environment Canada.
All municipal resources remain available and ready to react. Public Works personnel will be on standby from Saturday morning until Sunday evening.
Please avoid wharfs, beaches and boat landings as storms surges are dangerous and unpredictable. Put away patio and/or lawn furniture and secure or store any loose items which may be carried by strong winds.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for the municipality’s free alert system, as critical warnings and alerts will be sent there first. For more information or to sign up, visit our Alerts page.
