The Municipal Office has received an update on the repair plan for the Upper Bridge on Brunswick Street in St. George.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI) has developed a plan to repair the bridge, which is awaiting final approval. Components are also being procured. Once the finalization of the plan is complete, and components are in hand, DTI will start the repair.
At this time, there is no ETA on the procurement of components or when work will begin.
The municipality continues to dialog with the Province and and work towards a timely resolution, in partnership with Ian Lee, MLA for Fundy-The Isles-Saint John Lorneville.
Please adhere with detour signage until it has been removed by DTI. The detour applies to all motorized vehicles, including ATVs and motorized bikes. The bridge remains open for foot traffic only.
As a reminder, all bridges in Eastern Charlotte are owned and maintained by the Province’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, with the exception of snow removal in St. George and Blacks Harbour communities.
