Eastern Charlotte is advising residents and visitors to use caution around the Magaguadavic Place Community Centre beginning this week and continuing through approximately summer 2027 as construction takes place at the facility location.
During the construction period, residents may notice increased activity around the community centre, including construction vehicles and equipment, increased noise, and temporary changes to parking, entrances, and pedestrian access. Parking will be limited.
For everyone’s safety, residents and visitors are asked to:
- Follow all posted signage and directions around the construction area.
- Stay out of restricted or active construction zones.
- Use extra caution when travelling near the community centre.
- Allow additional time to find parking when visiting the facility.
The community centre will remain open throughout construction. However, some services, programs, or areas may be temporarily relocated or unavailable, including parking. Residents will be notified of any changes in advance whenever possible.
Skatepark Closure and Relocation
As part of the construction work, the skatepark will be closed for the duration of the project. It will be relocated to a new location within the same area, creating a refreshed space for residents and visitors to enjoy. The new skatepark is currently expected to open in summer 2027.
Basketball courts and playground will remain open although parking may be limited.
We appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of residents and community members as this important work gets underway. We recognize that construction may cause some temporary disruptions and thank everyone for helping us keep the area safe.
