Blacks Harbour and St. George water systems are managed under separate bylaws until one new bylaw is created for the municipality of Eastern Charlotte. Each system also operates from a separate budget, resulting in a difference in fees and rates.
Water Rates
In accordance with By-Law No.27-C Respecting Water and Sewerage Systems, Schedule “A”, water and sewage rate for properties within the former boundaries of the Town of St. George are the following:

Water & Sewage FIXED Charges:
Fixed water & sewage charges are billed semi-annually and cover a six (6) month period for half of the annual cost. Bills are sent in January (for January through June) and in July (for July through December).
Charges are not prorated. If your service is active for any number of days during a water and sewage billing period the full amount will be charged.

Water On/Off Request
To turn your water services ON or OFF please complete Water On/Off Online Form, or print and completed the Water Authorization Form and return it to the Municipal Office. Copies are also available at the Municipal Office.

Backwater Prevention Valves
According to BYLAW # 27, SECTION 21: All property owners are required to have a backwater valve installed to any water & sewer connections.
The municipality shall not be liable for any damages of any nature or description caused by a valve not installed or functioning properly in any building.
